Loosing my cat was extremely hard for me. Not knowing where to start or how was even more difficult. I came across LostMyKitty website while looking up shelters in the area. Caught my interest and did read through what LostMyKitty offered. Surprised that signing up was free just to get Link's(my cat)picture out there on the web. Without any hassle I was able to post a picture, flyers made and they sent out emails and a fax to all the local shelters near me. Of course nothing I did felt enough to find my fur baby so I bought the Amber Alert package deal that reached out to 500 neighbors around me! In a matter of minutes I got a phone call from someone two streets over that claimed the cat that was described in the LostMyKitty Amber Alert was eating his birds....(sounds like him). Unfortunately I did not find him at the neighbor's house but it gave me hope that more people are aware that someone is looking for what could look like a stray. Two months had gone by and I was completely depressed until a neighbor contacted me telling me that Links picture was posted on a local shelter site. LINK IS FOUND!!! Getting the word out to neighbors was key to get our cat Goose home after 37 days! We used the flyers and the telephone alerts to get the word out with this and posting on local community sites we were able to get Goose back home. Within a few hours of the alters we were receiving messages from neighbors so we knew they all were on alert! A month later a neighbor reached out with a picture of her under her shed! We were able to get her out with food and bring her back home safe and sound!

And it had all kinds of helpful options that could increase the chance of finding my baby. All my neighbors were already aware my baby was lost when I had asked them if they had seen her.

LostMyKitty was ESSENTIAL in finding my cat, Bear, when he went missing, especially during the Covid-19 stay at home order. It was a whole new challenge trying to reach out to neighbors and spread the word that Bear was missing and out there, while still being responsible during a global pandemic. As an indoor only cat, he was not collared, only microchipped. He was missing for a week and a half and nearly every one of my neighbors knew him by name all because of LostMyKitty’s alert calls, faxes to local shelters, generated flyers, everything! The enormous amount of calls I received with tips on where he was last seen gave me an area of where I should focus my search. After putting out flyers and posters, I would receive calls immediately from neighbors whenever there was a sighting.

I was very impressed with the support from lostmykitty.com. The "amber alert" feature is very well done. I was reluctant to intrude on my neighbors in this way. But I found the recording very professional, accurate, brief, and to the point. No one I encountered was at all upset by the call - just the opposite. I received a number of calls based on the alert and it raised general awareness dramtically in our neighborhood, Runt came home on his own after a week. But "sightings" helped us comb the area and get a general sense of where he might be. Nightime walks and calling in that area led him home I believe. Would definitely recommend this to others. Thank You!
