Lofi has been found in Springfield MA! THANKS TO EVERYONE for their prayers, shares and heartfelt concern! It meant a lot and really kept us going. ?? It is easy to give up hope. We were extremely lucky to hear a faint meow last night and discovered Lofi was just across the street from our home. He must have gone down a hole in the stone steps of the historic Henry Hobson Richardson Church and gotten trapped in the basement. The circumstances were just right. We had checked that hole before and saw nothing. Last night he heard us and called out. We barely heard him. The rescue operation was complicated because the church has not been in use for six years. It took all night, but with the help of our neighbors we finally reached a custodian for the church who let us into the cellar. Shout out THANKS to Springfield Fire Dept. and Animal Control who were on the scene. They truly love animals! Lofi’s condition was remarkable considering his time down there. Once we got him home he drank water, had lots of snacks, and TWO HOURS LATER WANTED TO GO OUT AGAIN! He was quite vocal about it! His transition to a full-time indoor cat is not going to be easy.... :) The big lesson is: DO NOT GIVE UP. After reading numerous articles and blogs, plus your recommended videos, the expert advice that a lost cat is most likely nearby and possibly trapped turned out to be true for us. We're looking forward to celebrating Christmas and getting him his first tree! As far as we’re concerned, Christmas came early. Thank you so much!
