Does anyone know how to get a cat to use the litter box when he prefers the
carpet, or even the floor? He was rescued as an adult tom cat (unneutered
male) that had been abandoned outdoors, and he was in pretty bad shape. He
loves being an indoor cat now, and he's been neutered, but he's very
inconsistent about his litter box habits. Help, anyone?

SOME HELPFUL TIPS OTHERS HAVE SHARED WITH ME. FIRST HAVE YOUR PET
EXAMINED TO RULE OUT ANY URINARY TRACT INFECTIONS OR OTHER HEALTH ISSUES.
CAT ATTRACT IS A LITTER TO HELP YOUR CAT WANT TO USE THE LITTER BOX. ANY
PET SUPPLY STORE SHOULD CARRY IT. KEEP A CLEAN LITTER BOX, AND ADD ONE
MORE LITTER BOX, BUT NOT TO CLOSE TO THE OTHER. SOME CATS PREFER A COVER
ON THEIR BOX, OTHERS DO NOT. CHOOSE A BETTER QUALITY LITTER, AS SOME CATS
DO NOT LIKE THE FEEL UNDER THEIR FEET OF A LESSER QUALITY. STRESS, MOVING,
ADDING ANOTHER PET TOO QUICKLY, COULD BE FACTORS. TRY PUTTING A WATER BOWL
NEXT TO THE AREA HE SOILS, THEY USUALLY WON'T GO WHERE THEIR BOWLS ARE.
