I spotted Crockett myself this morning crossing the street behind my house. Then a neighbor, 2 blocks away called and said they spotted him. He was taking refuge in a garage that faced a VERY busy street, but was always left open. I didn't know for sure he was in there, but took food and water to the entrance and quietly started talking and shaking the bowl with his dry food in it. Then, I heard the first meow! Then more and louder meows and I saw that sweet little face. He came to me, let me pet him and I picked him up and held on tight while I walked to my car. Put him in the carrier and shut it up.
Six, going on seven days, just shows never give up, they want to go back home, just don't know how to get there. lt was a joyful moment when I saw his little face and to think if I hadn't kept at it, he would have had to become just another stray.
This Amber Alert and the flyers made all the difference, oh, and the reward didn't hurt either. :)
